Last Updated: December 2025
Effective Date: December 6, 2025

1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Book Bounty. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Book Bounty, LLC ("Book Bounty," "Company," "we," "us," or "our"), a Mississippi limited liability company located at P.O. Box 216, Decatur, MS 39327.

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Book Bounty platform and services (collectively, the "Service"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms and policies referenced herein.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email, in-app notification, or website posting. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Immediate Access and Cancellation Rights

IMPORTANT: Please read this section carefully before creating your account.

When you create a Book Bounty account and accept these Terms, you request immediate access to the Service. By beginning to use the Service, you expressly consent to us providing you with access to the Service immediately and acknowledge that you lose your statutory 14-day right to cancel without reason under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

For Free Trial Users: If you sign up for a Free Trial, you expressly consent to us providing you with access to the Service immediately following your sign-up and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal when the Free Trial begins. If you do not cancel the Free Trial before it ends, you accept that you will be automatically enrolled onto the paid Subscription at the end of the Free Trial and you authorize Book Bounty to automatically charge you the applicable Subscription fee each billing period until you cancel.

For Paid Subscription Users: If you purchase a paid Subscription with no Free Trial, you expressly consent to us providing you with access to the Service immediately following your purchase, acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal when the Subscription begins, and authorize Book Bounty to charge you automatically each billing period until you cancel.

This does not affect your rights under our 30-day money-back guarantee, which is subject to the conditions described in Section 10.

3. Eligibility and Account Requirements

3.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.

3.2 Account Registration

To access the Service, you must create an account by providing accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3.3 One Account Policy

Each user is permitted one account per Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) account. All books associated with a single KDP account must be managed through one Book Bounty account. Creating multiple accounts is strictly prohibited and grounds for immediate termination.

3.4 Account Ownership

You may not share, sell, transfer, or otherwise allow another person to access your account or account credentials.

4. Description of the Service

Book Bounty is a book club that connects self-publishers and authors ("Publishers") with readers ("Reviewers") to facilitate authentic, honest book reviews on Amazon.com. The Service operates through a points-based bounty system where:

  • Publishers submit their books and create a "Bounty" in exchange for honest reviews.
  • Reviewers accept the "Bounty", read the books, and post authentic reviews on Amazon.com to earn Bounty Points. There are no requirements to take a "Bounty" or to complete a "Bounty" or to leave a review; it is totally optional.
  • Bounty Points can be redeemed by Publishers to create a Bounty for their own books.

Book Bounty is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon.com, Inc. or any of its subsidiaries.

5. Bounty Points System

5.1 Earning Bounty Points

Bounty Points are earned when a bounty is selected in accordance with these Terms. Bounty Points cannot be purchased with real money. Point earning rates vary based on factors including book length, review type (Verified Purchase, Kindle Unlimited, etc.), and other variables determined by Book Bounty.

The number of reviews you may choose complete per week depends on your subscription tier:

  • Publisher Subscription: Up to 6 reviews per week
  • Publisher Plus or higher: Up to 12 reviews per week

Sign-up bonus points, when offered, are subject to the same rules as earned points.

5.2 Using Bounty Points

Bounty Points may only be used within the Book Bounty platform to create a Bounty for your books. Bounty Points:

  • Have no monetary value
  • Are not property
  • Cannot be transferred between users
  • Cannot be gifted, sold, or exchanged outside the platform
  • Cannot be converted to cash, gift cards, or any other form of value
  • Represent only a limited license to use certain platform features

5.3 Point Expiration and Retention

Currently, Bounty Points do not expire due to inactivity. If you cancel your subscription and later return, your previously accumulated points will be available. Book Bounty reserves the right to implement an inactivity expiration policy of twenty-four (24) months with appropriate notice to users.

5.4 Point Forfeiture

If your account is terminated for fraud, policy violations, or other breaches of these Terms, all accumulated Bounty Points will be forfeited without compensation. If you believe your termination was in error, you may appeal pursuant to Section 14.5, and if your account is reinstated, your points may be restored.

5.5 Program Modifications

Book Bounty reserves the right to modify the Bounty Points program, including earning rates, redemption values, and program rules, at any time. We will provide users with thirty (30) days' advance notice of material changes to the program.

6. Review Standards and Requirements

6.1 Honest and Authentic Reviews

All reviews submitted through the Book Bounty platform must be honest, authentic, and reflect the reviewer's genuine opinion of the book. Bounty Points are awarded regardless of whether the review is positive or negative. Book Bounty does not condition incentives on review sentiment.

6.2 Reading Requirements

You must actually read the book before submitting a review. Book Bounty implements minimum time requirements based on book length to ensure reviewers have adequate time to read the material. Reviews submitted before the minimum reading time has elapsed may be rejected.

6.3 Review Quality Standards

All reviews must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Minimum of forty (40) words
  • Original content reflecting your personal experience with the book
  • Relevant to the book's actual content
  • Written in a language you are proficient in

6.4 AI Usage Policy

Users are prohibited from submitting reviews that are entirely AI-generated or where AI has written the review on the user's behalf. AI tools may only be used for:

  • Fixing spelling and grammar errors
  • Minor editing assistance

The substantive content and opinions expressed in reviews must be your own.

6.5 Prohibited Review Behaviors

The following review behaviors are strictly prohibited and may result in account termination:

  • Submitting fake, fabricated, or misleading reviews
  • Using copy/paste templates across multiple books
  • Submitting reviews that do not match the book's content
  • Coordinating reviews with other users (same timing, similar language patterns)
  • Submitting reviews for books in languages you do not speak or read
  • Submitting purely AI-generated reviews
  • Submitting reviews before completing the required reading time
  • Any other behavior intended to manipulate or circumvent review authenticity measures

Book Bounty reserves the right to modify these prohibited behaviors to maintain review authenticity and comply with applicable regulations.

6.6 Review Verification

To verify that your review has been posted on Amazon, you must forward the confirmation email from Amazon to Book Bounty. We verify the authenticity of this email and confirm it corresponds to the correct book and review. When requested, you may also provide a screenshot of your posted review.

6.7 Review Removal by Amazon

Book Bounty is not responsible for reviews that Amazon chooses to remove. If Amazon removes a review after points have been awarded, Publishers may contact us to request a case-by-case review. Book Bounty is not obligated to return points if a review is removed by Amazon.

If a review is found to be missing and it is determined that the reviewer deleted the review, Book Bounty may deduct points from the reviewer and return them to the Publisher.

6.8 Publisher Rights

Publishers cannot reject reviews before points are awarded and cannot take away points from reviewers based on review content or sentiment. This policy ensures compliance with FTC regulations prohibiting incentives conditioned on review sentiment.

7. Peer-to-Peer Restrictions

7.1 Review Reciprocity Prohibition

To maintain review authenticity and comply with Amazon's policies, users cannot review any books from someone who has reviewed their books. This restriction applies indefinitely, regardless of how much time has passed since the original review.

7.2 Additional Restrictions

  • Users may review multiple books from the same publisher, provided that publisher has not reviewed one of the reviewer's books.
  • There is no limit on how many books from the same author you may review, subject to the reciprocity prohibition above.
  • Reviewers must have access to the applicable Amazon marketplace to post reviews.

7.3 Detection and Enforcement

Book Bounty uses automated detection, manual review, and user reports to identify violations of these restrictions. Violations may result in warnings, point reversal, temporary suspension, or permanent termination depending on severity.

8. Amazon and Third-Party Platform Compliance

8.1 Amazon Terms of Service

By using Book Bounty, you acknowledge that you have read and understand Amazon's review policies and Community Guidelines. You agree to comply with Amazon's Terms of Service as a condition of using Book Bounty.

8.2 No Affiliation with Amazon

Book Bounty has no affiliation with Amazon.com, Inc. Book Bounty is an independent service and is not endorsed, sponsored, or approved by Amazon.

8.3 Amazon Enforcement Actions

Book Bounty is not responsible for any actions Amazon takes against your account, including but not limited to review removal, account suspension, or account termination. You are solely responsible for ensuring your reviewing behavior complies with Amazon's and/or Amazon KDP's policies.

You agree to hold Book Bounty harmless for any losses, damages, or penalties resulting from Amazon's enforcement actions against your account.

8.4 Platform Adaptations

If Amazon changes its review policies in ways that affect Book Bounty's service model, Book Bounty will work to adapt to such changes as quickly as possible. Book Bounty reserves the right to modify the Service, including features, restrictions, and point values, in response to third-party platform policy changes.

  • Your accumulated Bounty Points will be stored and will remain available should you choose to return and reactivate your account.

10.3 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

If your paid membership has been active for thirty (30) days or less (excluding any free trial period), you may request a full refund by emailing [email protected]. After your membership has been active for more than thirty (30) days, Book Bounty is not required to provide a refund.

10.4 No Partial Refunds

Book Bounty does not offer partial or prorated refunds for any subscription plan, including annual plans.

10.5 UK Consumer Rights

For users in the United Kingdom, your statutory rights under consumer protection laws are acknowledged. As stated in Section 2, by requesting immediate access to the Service, you waive your 14-day statutory cancellation right. However, our 30-day money-back guarantee provides protection that exceeds this statutory right.

11. User Content and Intellectual Property

11.1 Review Content Ownership

Book Bounty does not claim ownership of the reviews you submit. Reviews are created authentically by the reviewer and posted directly to Amazon. However, by using the Service, you grant Book Bounty a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use reviews or excerpts for marketing purposes.

11.2 Book Submissions

When you submit a book to the platform, you grant Book Bounty the right to display book covers, descriptions, language, categories, genres, and other metadata to other users for the purpose of facilitating reviews. 11.3 User Warranties

By submitting content to Book Bounty, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to all content you submit
  • You are the legitimate author, publisher, or rights holder of any books you submit
  • Your submitted content does not infringe upon any third-party intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, or other proprietary rights
  • Copyright protection is your responsibility as the content owner

Users and external entities agree not to:

  • Scrape or copy platform data
  • Use automated tools to access the site

  • Reverse engineer any part of the Service

Any violation will result in immediate termination. Users waive any claims related to data access restrictions, platform lockouts, or account closures resulting from such violations.

13.3 Human Oversight

For all account actions resulting from fraud detection (warnings, suspensions, or terminations), there might be human review before action is taken. If automated systems take action on your account, you may request human review, though Book Bounty is not obligated to respond, take action, or change the decision.
