A bounty is your book's listing in the library, open for members to choose.
Getting started
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes. Publisher and Publisher Plus start with 15 days free. Cancel in your account settings before day 15 and you won't be charged.
What kinds of books can I add?
Every kind. Fiction, nonfiction, series, children's books, poetry, and coloring, puzzle and activity books and journals are all welcome. There are no restrictions on the type of book.
I publish low-content books. Can I join?
Absolutely. Coloring books, puzzle and activity books, journals and planners are all welcome. You can ask for print purchases, image reviews and video reviews on your bounties, which suit low-content books especially well and work for every other kind of book too.
I don't have an ebook; can I use print copies?
Yes, you can choose to provide a Free Downloadable version of your book or request that the print version be purchased and reviewed. You can also request that reviews include an image or video when they are posted.
My ebook is in KDP Select. Can I still use Book Bounty?
Yes. Books enrolled in KDP Select (Kindle+, formerly Kindle Unlimited) are welcome, and every author plan includes Kindle+ bounties, so members can read them through their own Kindle+ subscription.
Can I use Book Bounty outside the US?
Yes. Members read from 170+ countries across 22 Amazon marketplaces. To post reviews, you'll need an Amazon account in good standing that meets Amazon's own requirements for reviewing. Please check yours before starting your free trial.
How long until someone chooses my book?
Different books can move at different speeds. There are different factors that play into getting picked. Having a great cover is one of them; along with your book's niche or topic, language of the book, and time commitment, all play a factor in someone choosing your book. Remember, publishing is a journey, not a race, and a steady pace is best.
How it stays honest
Is Book Bounty a review swap?
No. We built Book Bounty specifically to prevent swapping. If you read and review another member's book, that member won't see your books in the library for a long protection period, so a direct swap can't happen. Members don't contact each other on the platform either.
Am I paying for reviews?
No. Your membership is a flat monthly or yearly fee for using Book Bounty: the community, the library, your dashboard, cover feedback and our support. It doesn't buy a review, a number of reviews or any particular opinion. Members choose which books they read, and a positive opinion is never required.
Do I have to leave positive reviews?
No. Nobody is ever asked to be positive, and nothing depends on the rating you give. Read the book, say what you honestly think, and give your reasons.
Who are the readers?
Fellow Book Bounty members, mostly self-published authors who love to read. They choose books in the genres they enjoy most.
How do you know a reader actually read the book?
Every book has a minimum reading time based on its length, reviews have a minimum length and we look out for templates, copied text, retelling of the book's description, reading that happens faster than reading can and more.
Does Book Bounty follow Amazon's rules?
We regularly review Amazon's guidelines to make sure our practices continue to align with their requirements. Book Bounty is a book club where authors share their books, readers discover new titles, and members can choose whether or not to leave a review for a book they select.
We do not manipulate reviews or require anyone to choose a book or leave a review. Members participate by their own choice, and there is no sharing of private information between members or organized review swapping. We never dictate or influence the rating, wording, or sentiment of a review. If a reader decides to share their opinion, it should always reflect their own honest thoughts and experience.
Our goal is to support genuine reading experiences, independent opinions, and a community where everyone is free to make their own choices. Read how we keep reviews honest.
